Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5YO - Single Malt Scotch Whiskey (70 cl)

Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5 year old is the latest addition to the single malt range. This spirited whisky with a unique and powerful taste has been designed with bartenders to make smoked cocktails in particular.

It is called "Wee Beastie" which means "little beast" because it is only 5 years old. It is precisely after 5 years that peat ageing is at its peak. When the whisky is left to age further, it loses its power and gives way to more sweetness. Here, it is precisely thanks to this short ageing in Bourbon and Sherry Oloroso casks that this malt is so peaty and has such intense aromas ranging from smoked meat to pepper-black.

This full-bodied and bold blend is sure to please peat aficionados.

Tasting notes from the maker

• Aromas: Very fresh, herbal with notes of vanilla, pear and black pepper. Strong coffee and pine resin. After adding a dash of water, other herbal notes reveal vetiver, fennel but also aniseed, green apple and leather.
• Palate: a powerful and rich expression in the mouth with lots of chocolate and smoked bacon. Then touches of eucalyptus and anise.
• Finish: A long finish that coats the mouth with an iodised flavour with hints of cocoa, caramel and smoked meat.

Wee Beastie is perfect to enjoy neat or as the main ingredient in a powerfully smoked cocktail.
