Merlot Reserva Tarapaca is produced exclusively from Merlot grapes, harvested in the Maipo valley, located immediately south of the capital Santiago. The grapes are harvested at the end of March, partly by machine and in some fields by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 28-30°C. The wine is then aged for 6 months in small French and American oak casks, to give the wine more nuances of flavor and complexity. The wine is gently filtered before bottling and then rests for 4 months in the bottle before being released for sale.
